But when she reports the vision she had there, the family is engulfed in fear, violence, and madness. This is a shame, as it has so much to offer and I am delighted that I have read it.Published in 1958, this novel was followed by, “The Haunting of Hill House,” and is from an author really reaching the height of her powers.
