2 separate cables for gpu

Archived. I just want to know what advantage there is to using 2 separate cables connecting your GPU to your PSU. Graphics cards are power-hungry.

Also Nvidia's power balancing circuitry is designed to keep power draw from both PCIe plugs below 150w each, so just a single cable will do. Should I do the dual cable setup or am I okay on a single one?

Also having one PCIe power cable is an indication the PSU was not designed to handle graphics cards of that power.
