If it works after firing your Impala back up, great! You are welcome to reach out to me via email at I had the same transmission problem where my traction control light came on at various times. If you have a scanner it will tell you it is a part of a malfunctioning ABS system or bad ground somewhere.....Mechanics will tell you that it is the most expensive part of that system that needs to be replaced, Your ABS, hub, speed, sensor, pump module..ect, ect.If you have the optional materials then you will definitely save yourself the headaches from doing this all over again.I want bigger brakes, so took the system with dual piston off the 06-10 Monte Carlo. Each time the motor is killed you'd have to keep doing it. Come join the discussion about performance, SS models, modifications, classifieds, troubleshooting, maintenance, and more! When I'm pulling out to the left, and only to the left, I hear an almost grinding noise (I assume traction control) and my Service Traction Control light comes on for a few seconds. The harness is VERY inexpensive and it's really easy to replace yourself if you can solder... Just need to cut the existing one and solder in the replacement. And will it fit on the Monte Carlo abs? If cruise is on, it will shut the cruise off. on my impala in the rain it never happened the wet must have bridged the juco ZazaLOL. My 2006 impala service traction control light comes on and it will shift kind of hard but only when the stc comes on and it only comes on after driving awhile. Don't let the mechanics take your money! After reading your Instructable, I removed the ground bolt and then wire brushed (with a Dremel) the terminal, the bolt and the ground point.
The service traction control lights comes on periodically, even when traction control is turned off. my guess is wheel speed sensor, they're popular to fail on these cars.
on Funny, or I should say - not so funny - how GM or other mechanics fail to tell people this and charge hundreds of $'s to replace ABS wheel bearings or $1500+ to change the "defective" ABS control module.
