John Schneider is the sheriff, and just grins a lot. so now i'm the owner of a Multi Coded machine [ SONY BD-S1100 ]and i can confirm 'Lake Placid' looks and sounds fantastic, i always thought the DVD looked pretty good... but this Blu Ray eats it's Low Def counterpart for Breakfast...now i can plough into the rest of my small but soon to be ever going pile of Region A disc's!!!. Lake Placid 2. (Not like a prehistoric crocodile attack would've been well-documented...) Added to this, a few more giant man-eating crocs have appeared since the first film, and have started feasting on the local population. It isn't great literature, it doesn't have dramatic pauses between each sentence in an attempt to lend the words more profundity than they possess. The story is pretty obvious from the DVD cover so I won't discuss that.
To make matters worse, the editing is appalling - the cuts do not match with the special effects, and continuity is often an issue (most amusing is that the underwater shots of the lake were obviously filmed in a chlorinated pool).
