wild turkey 101 vs jameson

wild turkey 101 vs jameson

by

Wild Turkey is a popular Kentucky-based bourbon, currently owned by Campari group. Please be responsible. Don’t drink and drive.
In late 2016, I picked up a 1L travel retail bottle (i.e., duty-free) of WT 101 for $22 USD, on sale at a US airport. Its stout with an amazing smooth rich flavour that is flawless!

I’m afraid that a lot of people, who have already tried the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey (which came out in 2011) and the American Honey from Wild Turkey might skip this latecomer. He has also been published on Liquor.com. Now, obviously I am going to avoid drinking Wild Turkey 101 in the future, but is there any nutrtional information available for whiskey? The price of one bottle ranges in the $20s, making it an affordable choice. It is very reasonable for a decent whiskey. Wild Turkey 101-Proof. I wouldn’t want to be seen with a plastic bottle, right?Okay, I’ll give them this. It’s outstanding. This is a standard drinking bourbon for a lot of people, and we haven’t reviewed it yet. Under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell for nearly 55 years, This 50.5% alcohol whiskey is not age stated, though I have it on good terms that the age is generally no less than seven years, and usually closer to eight, if not over. Wild Turkey 101 is so-named because it is bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). Plastic bottle aside, the smells coming off this bourbon are really nice. Bourbon geeks have long enjoyed Wild Turkey’s flavor profile, sometimes even purposefully perpetuating the undeserved image of a rough and unrefined whiskey to keep rarer expressions for themselves.

He is a native of Louisville, KY in the heart of Bourbon Country. Under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Jimmy Russell for nearly 55 years, Wild Turkey has long been a stalwart of the bourbon industry known for its rebellious image and in-your-face bourbon flavor. The Turkey comes in a couple of different proofs — seek out the 101 and bask in its spiciness. Here’s a $25 bourbon available anywhere from high end liquor stores to corner drug stores, and it’s excellent.

It really is a good product and I think the best value in bourbon today.I’m occasionally in Lawrenceburg, and I do have plans to tour the distillery. I’m starting to think I may not have given Jimmy Russell enough credit.Right off the bat, this bourbon hits the tongue with a punch of gingerbread. The LCBO started stocking it in early 2017, but at higher cost (currently $38 CAD for 750mL).

Nothing comes close to it at its price. It can’t be all that good, right? Would work very well in cocktails, thanks to the high rye flavour and extra proof. Wild Turkey 101 is so-named because it is bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). The true measure of a distiller is not whether they can find a handful of amazing barrels amongst their hundreds of thousands or even millions of barrels aging in warehouses. It’s a nice, amber color in the Glencairn- a deep reddish brown.Well, I’ll give them this one, too. It’s a great American whiskey.© 2020 ModernThirst. Hands down one of the best bourbon I have ever tried. I felt obligated, despite my misgivings about what it would taste like, not having tried it for several years. It’s refined, creamy, and sweet on the tongue with the perfect amount of heat from what might be the perfect bottling proof of 101º. And Buffalo Trace. Fantastic bourbon. Note that you scored WT101 a point higher than the Kentucky Spirit. I spent 2014 focusing on a lot of harder to find bourbons, and I feel like I’ve spent 2015 hitting some of the standards again, and it’s been a great reminder that great bourbon doesn’t need to come at a price tag of $75 or even more. But this bottle is a very nice bourbon that I haven’t give due credit to over the past two years of reviews and ratings on ModernThirst, and I’d wager there are many of you out there who have done the same. It’s followed by a spicy combination of cinnamon and vanilla that develops into black peppery and rye spices on the back of the palate. This one is going into my regular rotation, without a doubt. The 101 I tried maybe 4 years ago was harsh, lifeless, and really of poor quality, so I was thrilled to get that old gingerbread and sweet fruit profile back again with this tasting, and at only $25.
