Or is it possible that i may have more than one type of critter problem? So you hearing something at night makes me think you could have squirrels or something larger. I’ve narrowed it down to the roof vents. I’ve got that *DEEP* blown insulation (like 3′ high), and the attic is the span of the house. In addition to hearing consistent scratching sounds, another important sign you have bats in the attic is high-pitched screeches. I’m not sure what to do here. Sound is more like of … I’ve inspected the outside of the soffits and don’t see any access points. A saw was apparently used to cut a hole and hide the trap presumably to obscure it during a home inspection. I had a 2 story home built a little more than 2 years ago. And you’ll want to inspect the offering once a week. Nothing I can see. Our neighbors in the house next to us say they can also hear it and it sounds like its right in our walls almost. And nothing has fallen out of my heat/air vents in the ceiling (thank goodness).I had the same problem last year that I have started to have this year. Our roof is 19 yrs old and the shingles brittle, so removing them to replace the boards, is not an option. Since these creatures come and go to look for food, you will need to look to see if you can find droppings or chew or claw marks on any wooden surfaces. Next morning at about the same time.
