The SimpleHuman automatic soap dispenser is a touch-free pump that puts soap or sanitizer in your hand when you place it under the sensor.

Try the following:You can use almost any hand soap on your simplehuman soap dispenser. Rechargeable with included charging puck — one charge lasts up to 3 months. However, for foaming dispensers regular liquid hand soap may not work because it is too thick. I forgot to take pictures of the end of the motor but there is a rubber cover that's accessible once the small pully wheel is removed.In this instance, the motor was unable to turn due to the dried soap and possibly rust. What you see in the photos is the pump face that fits on the bottom of the soap reservoir and is fed from the tiny hole in the top.The top of the pump is not glued and is just resting on the pump. These are great in dispensing soap without having to touch anything but over time the soap can dry out (or if you use too thick a soap) and form a blockage in the tube leading from the pump to the dispenser port. Failing that, either the sensor is broken or the pump is broken -- either of which is a lot more difficult to repair and it might be a lost cause. 6 months ago I have a different Instructable for a dispenser without the buttons on top https://www.instructables.com/id/Unclogging-a-SimpleHuman-Soap-Dispenser/The top is held on by two screws which are visible once you remove the filling port cover and a third screw from the bottom of the spout.Disconnect the black/red wire for the battery and the black/white for the motor. Maybe it's just time to pitch it.

I'm glad you found this useful. To control the amount of soap desired, you can position your hand up close to the sensor for a little soap and farther away for more. Reply There is a very tiny hole at the bottom which is invisible but needs to be free of obstructions.Force hot water down the tube to clean out any soap blockages. However, the light will be blue on older models made before 2010.
